Turners (Soham) Ltd is the UK’s largest privately owned Transport Company. We are looking to recruit a Day Shift Charge Hand working within the Coldstore based in Newmarket.

The role involves:

• Supporting the shift Supervisor with running the day operation
• Having the ability to work to a tight schedule ,ensuring that vehicles leave site in a timely fashion
• The ability to relay instruction to a team , and the ability to work alone
• Problem solving
• Tipping and loading of Vehicles/ trailers using powered pallet trucks
• Organise work of staff on shift
• Enforce company hygiene, housekeeping and health & safety policies
• Ensure all relevant paper work and record keeping is accurate and legible
• Responsible for condition and maintenance of all Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE)

Shift pattern:

• Monday to Sunday
• 7 days on 7 days off x 12 hours shift

Shift rates:

• £10.97-£12.57 based on experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Attention to detail
• Communication Skills
• Basic computer skills
• Working solo or part of a team
• Ability to work to a schedule
• Running the shift and directing team members
• Liaising directly with the shift manager
